Jessie is a female American Staffordshire Terrier mix that is approximately 3 yrs old and 55 lbs of pure love and appreciation. She was living at a construction site and infested with ticks before she found herself lucky enough to become a part of Tallahassee Big Dog Rescue. After apparently being used for breeding, she is now enjoying her new life of R & R.
She enjoys chew toys, basking in the sun, and hanging out with her people - and she LOVES her peanut butter treat time!! Crate trained, house broken and loves riding in the car. She is content to be lying near you sleeping or chewing on a toy and doesn’t require constant attention.
She loves new people when she meets them on neutral ground or when she is reassured they are ok and then she will give plenty of kisses and tail wags. She will bark if scared - she has been known to growl at bags of mulch that she thought were threatening her 🤣.
She walks well on a leash and is a quick learner of basic commands and is very treat motivated. She is still very playful and is learning that jumping up is not acceptable. There are no children in her foster home but she has met them with no issues. Small children would not be recommended until she learns that jumping up to greet you is not acceptable.
She has been around other dogs while at the vets office and they report that she is dog friendly. She was introduced to a cat and was not aggressive, but rather overly friendly to the point of chasing and cornering to lick. Stressful for the cat so a slow intro over time would likely be best for the sake of the cat!
Jessie is now heartworm negative, current on shots, spayed and has a microchip. She will require a fenced yard and her adoption fee is $175.00
