Meet Daisy! This gorgeous girl has been waiting too long for a home. If you're afraid a hound won't make a good house pet ... please think again. Daisy is PLAYFUL and AFFECTIONATE, but also OBEDIENCE-TRAINED and a CALM HOUSEDOG who is a couch potato at heart!
Daisy, a tricolor Walker Hound (Treeing Walker Coonhound), is 4 1/2 years old (as of October 2011). She is around 50 pounds. This dog is really beautiful! She is also full of character and totally sweet and lovable!
Just a big love, Daisy adores people and gets along great with other dogs. We believe she is good with cats, also. She is gentle and does not have much of a hunting instinct. She "hunts" lizards in the yard just for fun: she does not hurt them, just follows them for fun. She loves stuffed toys also. She doesn't rip the stuffing out and destroy them - she just loves to play with them and hold them. Her favorite is a stuffed gopher that she really adores!
Daisy is playful and loves to exercise: walking, running, chasing, you name it. However, when there's nothing else going on, Daisy is happy to take long naps on the couch. She is calm and quiet in the house and makes a fine indoor pet. She has been attending doggy daycare and obedience classes and is making wonderful progress.
Daisy must have a fenced yard. She will bark at wildlife so a privacy fence is strongly preferred to block her line of vision. She would do best with another dog or dogs for companionship and play.
Daisy is housetrained. She will go in a crate, but prefers her freedom (and there is no reason to crate her since she is good in the house). Daisy is spayed, up-to-date with shots, heartworm negative, and microchipped in case of loss. Fostered by Brandee.
